What a Housing Bubble Looks Like

My son's better half is in the real estate business, poor girl. She sent out the stats for housing sales in California for this year. Monterey County is not atypical. Catastrophe is too mild of a term.

Do you really think a few billion dollars is going to pull Fannie Mae's and Freddie Macs irons out of the fire?

I seem to recall a few folks around this old blog who thought this was going to be no big deal. :)

Clarification:
Oooops, sorry! Did not label the columns.

The first column is total homes sold to date in Monterey County in 2008.

The second column is avarage price at sale in 2008.

The third column is average price at sale in 2007.

The fourth column is the % change.

Columns of figure with no column captions. What do those columns represent?

George - Not exactly sure, but my bet is the following are the columns (in order from left to right)

City
# of homes for sale
Current listing price
Original listing price
