A Rosie By Any Other Name... (Part 3)

...still a @%#ing nutjob. (Part 2, 1, and other Rosie posts are available here)

I've returned from the Redneck Riviera, have started the new job, and should be back to blogging form. The "presidential" debates haven't interested me much, but this post by Rosie is just grand, since it not only shows how paranoid she is but also demonstrates her inability to comprehend the words that she is reading:

From the R blog, with the ominous title "Scary Plus":

Bush Outlaws All War Protest In United States

In one of his most chilling moves to date against his own citizens, the American War Leader has issued a sweeping order this week outlawing all forms of protest against the Iraq war.

President Bush enacted into US law an ‘Executive Order’ on July 17th titled “Blocking Property of Certain Persons Who Threaten Stabilization Efforts in Iraq”, and which says:

”By the authority vested in me as President by the Constitution and the laws of the United States of America, including the International Emergency Economic Powers Act, as amended (50 U.S.C. 1701 et seq.)(IEEPA), the National Emergencies Act (50 U.S.C. 1601 et seq.)(NEA), and section 301 of title 3, United States Code,

I, GEORGE W. BUSH, President of the United States of America, find that, due to the unusual and extraordinary threat to the national security and foreign policy of the United States posed by acts of violence threatening the peace and stability of Iraq and undermining efforts to promote economic reconstruction and political reform in Iraq and to provide humanitarian assistance to the Iraqi people, it is in the interests of the United States to take additional steps with respect to the national emergency declared in Executive Order 13303 of May 22, 2003, and expanded in Executive Order 13315 of August 28, 2003, and relied upon for additional steps taken in Executive Order 13350 of July 29, 2004, and Executive Order 13364 of November 29, 2004.”

Now, you won't be surprised, but Rosie clearly hasn't read the executive order at all. It goes on to state the following:

property and interests in property of the following persons, that are in the United States, that hereafter come within the United States, or that are or hereafter come within the possession or control of United States persons, are blocked and may not be transferred, paid, exported, withdrawn, or otherwise dealt in: any person determined by the Secretary of the Treasury, in consultation with the Secretary of State and the Secretary of Defense,

(i) to have committed, or to pose a significant risk of committing, an act or acts of violence that have the purpose or effect of:

(A) threatening the peace or stability of Iraq or the Government of Iraq; or

(B) undermining efforts to promote economic reconstruction and political reform in Iraq or to provide humanitarian assistance to the Iraqi people;

(ii) to have materially assisted, sponsored, or provided financial, material, logistical, or technical support for, or goods or services in support of, such an act or acts of violence or any person whose property and interests in property are blocked pursuant to this order; or

(iii) to be owned or controlled by, or to have acted or purported to act for or on behalf of, directly or indirectly, any person whose property and interests in property are blocked pursuant to this order.

(b) The prohibitions in subsection (a) of this section include, but are not limited to, (i) the making of any contribution or provision of funds, goods, or services by, to, or for the benefit of any person whose property and interests in property are blocked pursuant to this order, and (ii) the receipt of any contribution or provision of funds, goods, or services from any such person.

Sec. 2. (a) Any transaction by a United States person or within the United States that evades or avoids, has the purpose of evading or avoiding, or attempts to violate any of the prohibitions set forth in this order is prohibited.

(b) Any conspiracy formed to violate any of the prohibitions set forth in this order is prohibited.

Now, this executive order is clearly intended to freeze and block any assets that might be coming from the US (or be within the US) that might be used by our enemies in Iraq and the broader war on terror. This has nothing to do with free speech at all, but material assistance to our sworn enemies.

That Rosie thinks this executive order is targeting her (and her moonbat idiots who think that the most sophisticated political speech in the 21st century is "HALLIBURTON!!!!!!") demonstrates that they either:

  1. are too dumb to understand the English language;

  2. are blinded by Bush Derangement Syndrome and think that any pronouncement by W. is clearly a Christo-fascistic assault on our liberal society; or

  3. rightly recognize that their protests against the US War On Terror and our presence in Iraq are providing substantial aid & comfort to our sworn enemies.

I'm just glad that they're willing to admit that their protests against Bush are helping the enemy.

Don't say I questioned their patriotism - Rosie did.

*** UPDATE ***
Meanwhile, Cox & Forkum has this excellent post about an actual tyrant that is quashing dissent in his country:

From FOX News: Chavez to Kick Out Foreigners Critical of Him.
President Hugo Chavez said Sunday that foreigners who publicly criticize him or his government while visiting Venezuela will be expelled from the country.

Chavez ordered officials to closely monitor statements made by international figures during their visits to Venezuela — and deport any outspoken critics.

"How long are we going to allow a person — from any country in the world — to come to our own house to say there's a dictatorship here, that the president is a tyrant, and nobody does anything about it?" Chavez asked during his weekly television and radio program.

The Venezuelan leader's statements came after Manuel Espino, the president of Mexico's conservative ruling party, criticized Chavez during a recent pro-democracy forum in Caracas.

Government opponents argue Chavez — a close ally of Cuban leader Fidel Castro — is becoming increasingly authoritarian and cracking down on dissent as he steers oil-rich Venezuela toward what he calls "21st-century socialism."

Chavez rejects such allegations, countering that democratic freedoms have been extended since he was first elected in 1998. The former paratroop commander says his government has empowered the poor by giving them increased decision-making authority in politics.

During Sunday's six-hour program, Chavez assured private property owners their rights will be guaranteed under a pending constitutional reform.

"Private property will respected," he said.
Yeah, right. Just like he respected the rights of these property owners.

Of course, Chavez is a darling of the Leftists here in the US, including Rosie.

Nothing wrong with Rosie that a few mikes of Haldol wouldn't fix right up.
