ARC's 1st Law: As a "progressive" online discussion grows longer, the probability of a nefarious reference to Karl Rove approaches one

Haven't commented on this, as there's too much spin already in the blogosphere and the MSM. By the way, it's rather interesting that the blogosphere (supposedly anointed as the counter-MSM for both the Left and the Right) is essentially parroting the same talking points back & forth...

Anyway, here's my take on Foley... who wrote these disgusting Instant Messages to a 16 year old boy.

Great job, Mark... you're a disgusting bastard. You've not only disgraced yourself and potentially damaged the life of a page, but you've damaged your party. I have to say that our Rovian October Surprises were all lined up when this thing came out.

We're not Democrats, Mark.... we expect more out of our representatives.

I suspect that this will have a wider impact than just Foley's seat, although I don't think it will create an anti-incumbent tide that will sweep the GOP out of power. The major impact is that it is an event which will distract the GOP and the electorate from the issue of our time - the global war on terror.

Second, I'm not supposed to say this, but this is all just payback for Foley's unwillingness to support a free trade bill favored by the Bush administration a couple of years back. At least, that's the kind of bare-knuckled politics that us Rovians are into...

either that or perhaps this is Karl's attempt to GOTNV (Get Out the NAMBLA Vote). However, it seems that NAMBLA is more closely aligned with Democratic and Lefty politics and wouldn't be likely to switch over. From the International Lesbian and Gay Association (ILGA):

ILGA had passed a resolution in 1985 which stated that "young people have the right to sexual and social self-determination and that age of consent laws often operate to oppress and not to protect."

I mean, who are we to judge, right??? Those consent laws are soooo oppresive. Sex with an underage teen is apparently okay if you're a hot teacher or if your views on abortion (or other Lefty pet causes) are correct.

I will say this... the GOP had better admit it was fooled by Foley when the original, friendly emails were discovered. I think the approach they took with the original communications was that they did not believe Foley was a pedophile (interested in getting jiggy with young boys), but that it was inappropriate for him to have personal communications with pages, regardless of the topic. Now that the sexually explicit instant messages have been revealed (and which were never disclosed to the GOP in the House), Foley is persona non grata...

and I assume that if he's eligible for a pension, he should be stripped of that by a vote from the House. Just a thought.

If you thought the Moonbat Lefty Blogosphere was rabid when it came to Fitzmas and Ned Lamont, they'll top themselves on this charge.
