That was "Interesting" - The Ohio Special Election

The elction tonight in Ohio was close for that district. I understand W carried the district nearly 2-1. The Republican candidate tonight won 52-48.

Before the Dems get all excited, a close look at the election will need to be taken. From my point of view, a veteran who has a softspot for outspoken Marines, the Democrats had a strong candidate. A pro-gun Iraq veteran. Not exactly out of the Nancy Pelosi mold. In a regular election cycle, he would never have survived the primay. The lefties would never have allowed that to happen.

If the Democrats came up with more Hacketts, they might actually stand a chance. Happily, they won't. They are devoted to "the cause" no matter what it costs them. They still believe that all they have to do is convince all those ignorant rubes who keep returning a Republican congress of the error of their ways. It never occurs to them that those voters know exactly what they do.

Thank you Major Hackett for a fun race. While I don't agree with your assesment of the president, or how you said it, I do respect your guts. That sort of candor is refreshing. You had your reasons, and as I said, I have a softspot for outspoken jarheads.

Thank you for your service. Semper Fi!

By the way, please don't run for anything else. One night like this was enough.

i think 2006 might be big, if we run on impeaching george bush and fixing the country at
the same time

I hope too! Oh please! Pretty please?! With sugar on top? With that political campaign plan 2006 will be huge! But for the Republican side of the aisle. Might pick up an additional 5 seats in the Senate.
